National Cryo-EM Centre

The heart of the National Cryo-Em Centre, which is being developed in SOLARIS, is Titan Krios G3i, the latest generation of a cryo-electron microscope. The Centre is the result of the joint initiative of a consortium consisting of 17 of the best Polish scientific institutions conducting research in structural biology.

The consortium operates under the direction of Dr Sebastian Glatt (Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków) and Dr Marcin Nowotny (International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw).

The creation of the Centre will allow Polish researchers to join the community of global leaders in structural biology.

Applications are submitted through the user portal Digital User Office (DUO).

Structural Biology Core Facility at Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology will provide support in the preparation of samples.

The project is financed by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
