Doctoral School at SOLARIS

Doctoral School at SOLARIS

On 29 June admissions to the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences of the Jagiellonian University will be open. The Małopolska Center of Biotechnology (MCB), the Jagiellonian Center for Experimental Therapeutic (JCET), as well as the SOLARIS Centre will organise the School Biomedical Science Doctoral Programme.

The institutes gather international world-class scientists, whose publications represent the highest international level.

A total of 14 PhD students will be recruited to the program for the 2020/2021 academic year (11 persons to MCB, 3 persons to JCET and one to SOLARIS).

Admissions are centralised, but each institute will run its own projects. The SOLARIS PhD project "Chemical imaging and machine learning for cancer detection" led by dr Tomasz P. Wróbel focuses on the development of IR imaging as a tool for cancer understanding and diagnosis using machine learning approaches.

Applicants will be asked to provide a CV and a cover letter. The cover letter should explain, why the candidate is interested in joining the Biomedical Science Doctoral Programme. We will also ask for names of referees in the field of biological sciences to be provided. The referees should be able to comment on student abilities and understanding of the biological sciences.

Candidates will be asked to register in the Jagiellonian Univesity Online Application System.
