First research grants for SOLARIS
For the first time in its history the SOLARIS Centre has received funding from the National Science Centre, the largest grant-making agency in Poland for fundamental research and basic science.
The awarded proposals were submitted in the PRELUDIUM 18 call. PRELUDIUM is a funding opportunity intended for young, talented pre-doctoral researchers about to embark on their scientific career.
The funding received will allow SOLARIS to implement two research projects:
- Improving 3D macromolecule orientation determination based on polarized IR chemical imaging by optimization of scattering removal algorithms - a two-year project, a principal investigator: mgr inż. Paulina Kozioł
- Improvement of histopathological classification based on chemical FT-IR imaging with data augmentation - a three-year project, a principal investigator: mgr Danuta Liberda.
