The relationship between the structure of polyurethane frameworks and the structural and superconducting properties of Y-123 foams

The relationship between the structure of polyurethane frameworks and the structural and superconducting properties of Y-123 foams

16.04.2024
A Polish team of researchers led by Dr. Paweł Pęczkowski from the Institute of Physical Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University used the PIRX beam to study the properties of the electronic structure of superconducting foams obtained on the basis of polyurethane foams. The research results were published in the Journal of the European Ceramic Society published by Elsevier.

Effect of Ne+ 250 keV ion implantation on the critical parameters of composite 2G HTS tapes

Effect of Ne+ 250 keV ion implantation on the critical parameters of composite 2G HTS tapes

03.04.2024
A Polish team of researchers led by Dr. Paweł Pęczkowski from the Institute of Physical Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University used the PIRX beam to study the properties of the electronic structure of 2G HTS tapes (second generation high-temperature superconducting tapes) previously subjected to the process of implantation with Ne+ noble gas ions with an energy of 250 keV. The results of the investigation were published in the journal Applied Surface Science published by Elsevier.

The special role of magnetic Ni ions in the electronic structure

The special role of magnetic Ni ions in the electronic structure

19.03.2024
An international research team led by researchers from the Institute of Physics (Zagreb, Croatia) revealed the electronic structure of nickel intercalated 2H-NbS2. The combination of theoretical and experimental approaches provided insight into the peculiar role of the intercalated Ni ions in the electronic structure of the layered compound. The work received “Editors’ Suggestion” from Physical Review B.

New method of data quality improvement by noise removal

New method of data quality improvement by noise removal

12.02.2024
Scientists from the CIRI beamline have found a way to accelerate infrared imaging of biological tissues. Their solution will enable faster diagnosis of cancer thanks to denoising. You can read about the MNF2 method they developed in the journal "Chemometrics and Intelligent Laboratory System". With this discovery, researchers significantly enhanced the measurement capabilities using the FPA array detector available at the FT-IR microscopy end station at the CIRI beamline.
