Installation of the vacuum system

Installation of the vacuum system

On 17 June 2014, experts from the National Centre for Nuclear Research in Świerk and the SOLARIS team started the assembly of the SOLARIS synchrotron vacuum system. The linear accelerator will be assembled in the first place.

Our experts participated in numerous large research projects such as the Large Hadron Collider in CERN (Geneva) or European XFEL in DESY (Hamburg). The long experience acquired then was noticed and appreciated also at home – pointed out Paweł Krawczyk, director of the Division of Nuclear Equipment HITEC of the National Centre for Nuclear Research. We have at our disposal in Świerk the necessary machinery and uniquely qualified staff to be able to build accelerators and vacuum systems. These were the assets that the project owners were looking for in order to develop the first synchrotron to be operated in Poland. Those advantages – and a right offered price – made us the tender winner - he said.
