The Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of Jagiellonian University invited Solaris scientists
The Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of Jagiellonian University invited Solaris scientists to present the capabilities of techniques available at the Centre. The audience was particularly interested in advanced research methods applicable to the life science and structural biology field.
The guests of the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Biotechnology were: Prof. Dr. hab. Marek Stankiewicz - Director of NCPS SOLARIS, Dr. Jakub Szlachetko, Prof. UJ - Deputy Director for Research, Dr. Hab. Sebastian Glatt - Head of the National Center for Cryo-EM and Structural Biology Core Facility, Prof. Dr Hab. Maciej Kozak - SOLCRYS Beamline Manager, Dr. Hab. Tomasz Wróbel - SOLAIR Beamline Manager and Dr. Przemysław Grudnik - Deputy Manager of the Structural Biology Core Facility (MCB, Jagiellonian University).
The meeting not only focused on details of the Cryo-EM microscopes (Titan Krios and Glacios) and five available beamlines, but also on the nearest prospects for the development of new experimental beamlines, which are opening research opportunities for biologists and biophysicists.
