European Nuclear Young Generation Forum visited SOLARIS

European Nuclear Young Generation Forum visited SOLARIS

For four days, nearly 300 participants from 30 countries around the world attended the European Nuclear Young Generation Forum conference. The meeting was organised by the Young Forum of the Polish Nucleonic Society and the European Nuclear Society Young Generation Network.

The ENYGF conference is seen as the main opportunity for young people involved in the nuclear sector to be heard around the world. It provides an international platform for knowledge transfer, discussion and sharing of best practices.
The ENYGF takes place every two years in selected member states affiliated to the European Nuclear Society. The 2021 edition was held in Spain, and the next one in 2025 will be held in Croatia.
The organisers of the Polish edition of the event - ENYGF23 - were the Polish Nucleonic Society, in cooperation with the Department of Energy and Fuels - AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. The event attracted a record number of 310 participants.
The programme of the event focused on currently important topics, e.g. energy transition, the role of research reactors, new nuclear reactor designs for the future and many others.
Conference participants were also able to take part in technical visits, with host institutions including the SOLARIS National Centre for Synchrotron Radiation and the Henryk Niewodniczanski Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

ENYGF23 also featured side events:

  • School of Nuclear Energy Management, in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency,
  • Nuclear Career Day - a meeting of students with leading representatives of the nuclear industry,
  • Innovation for Nuclear (I4N) Europe - European final of the international student competition,
