New directions of cooperation with the Łukasiewicz Research Network.
A meeting of representatives of the Lukasiewicz Research Network and the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Center was held at the NCPS SOLARIS on Friday 07.07.2023.
The meeting on behalf of the Network was attended by President of the Lukasiewicz Center - Dr. Andrzej Dybczynski, Acting Director of the Krakow Institute of Technology - Dr. Katarzyna Marzec, Director of the Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials - Dr. Paweł Pichniarczyk, Eng. NCPS SOLARIS was represented by Acting Director of the SOLARIS National Center for Synchrotron Radiation - Jakub Szlachetko, Ph.D., Professor of the Jagiellonian University, and Deputy Director for Administration and Finance - Michał Młynarczyk, M.Sc.
The meeting began with a presentation of the NCPS SOLARIS research infrastructure and a visit to the construction site of the new part of the experimental hall. Representatives of the Lukasiewicz Research Network had a chance to see how the synchrotron is constructed and the beamlines in operation and under construction. Supervisors of the infrastructure talked about the scientific potential that the synchrotron has and how to use it. A cryomicroscope was also presented.
The purpose of the meeting was to define directions for cooperation and better joint use of the NCPS SOLARIS infrastructure. It was widely emphasized that NCPS SOLARIS is looking for new forms of cooperation and opportunities to create new infrastructure with the Lukasiewicz Research Center.
