7th Silesian Science Festival in Katowice with the participation of SOLARIS

7th Silesian Science Festival in Katowice with the participation of SOLARIS

The SOLARIS Centre participated in the 7th Silesian Science Festival takes place from 9 to 11 December in the International Congress Centre and Spodek Arena in Katowice under the motto: Science will give us a future. Nearly 70,000 people took part in the event!

How do you control plasma in a tube? Everyone who visited our festival stand already knows the answer to this question. Hundreds of people strolling through the science zone listened with interest to our scientists about what synchrotron light is and what research can be carried out using its properties. We are glad that many people knew what a synchrotron was, but they wanted to learn more about the research conducted at our Centre.

On Saturday, the Future Industries Stage belonged to Edyta Beyer, who gave her lecture "How Metrology Didn't Allow Us to Lose Weight?".
An additional point for SOLARIS during the Silesian Science Festival was the premiere of Tomasz Rożek's film Science. That's what I like about the discovery of the Higgs boson at CERN. The film also featured our SOLARIS Synchrotron, which was an additional layer of excitement to the already lively festival atmosphere.

We are glad that we could be a part of this huge, scientific event!
We are looking forward to the next edition!
