Meeting of the Board of Directors of the CERIC-ERIC Consortium at the SOLARIS Center
A meeting of directors of research infrastructures belonging to the CERIC-ERIC consortium was held on December 19-20, 2023. The venue for the meeting was the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Center. CERIC-ERIC is the Consortium for Central European Research Infrastructure, which offers open access to advanced multidisciplinary research laboratories. It enables Central European scientists to benefit from top-level research resources while promoting international cooperation and innovative research projects.
The purpose of the meeting was to elect a new chairman of the Board of Directors and to determine the strategy of activities for the coming year. We would like our activities to be more focused on increased integration of partner units. We also discussed budget plansand investment plans of the consortium - says Prof. Marek Stankiewicz, Collaboration Officer of the SOLARIS Center.
By supporting various research projects, CERIC-ERIC contributes to the development of knowledge in many fields of science by offering a number of complementary research techniques located in the 8 member countries of the consortium. These projects not only expand our understanding of fundamental processes, but also have the potential to introduce new technologies and solve practical social and industrial problems.
As an internationally oriented organization, CERIC-ERIC actively participates in the exchange of researchers and projects with other research institutions. Working together internationally strengthens CERIC-ERIC's position as a key player in the European research landscape.
