General Assembly meeting of the CERIC-ERIC consortium at the SOLARIS Centre

General Assembly meeting of the CERIC-ERIC consortium at the SOLARIS Centre

The General Assembly meeting of the CERIC-ERIC consortium took place at the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre on June 27-28. CERIC-ERIC (Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium) brings together specialized laboratories and research centers from Central Europe and Italy. These facilities conduct material research using techniques involving photons, electrons, neutrons, or ions.

The consortium, which includes 8 Central European countries, provides open access to advanced research infrastructures utilized free of charge by research groups from member states. SOLARIS, representing Poland, offers scientists a wide range of unique research techniques based on synchrotron radiation. "Access to advanced infrastructures and expert support for local research groups opens exceptionally attractive opportunities," says Prof. Marek Stankiewicz, Plenipotentiary for Cooperation at SOLARIS.

During the General Assembly, the minutes of the previous meeting in Zagreb were approved, and resolutions were ratified. Chair and Vice-Chair of the assembly presented their reports, internal regulations and framework agreements were updated, and key memberships were renewed. Discussions included the review of research time allocation requests through the VUO portal and monitoring of the consortium's progress to ensure alignment with established goals.

More information about the consortium's activities is available on their website: ceric-eric.eu
