Research begins at the SOLARIS synchrotron

On October 2, 2018, scientists from Poland and abroad start regular research at the SOLARIS Center. The SOLARIS synchrotron provides scientists with unique research possibilities, previously unavailable in Central Europe. It took over thirty years to collect necessary funds and built the Polish synchrotron. This is the reason why the first user in SOLARIS is a breakthrough moment for Polish science.
Diagnostic line in SOLARIS

The first diagnostic line was installed and activated in the SOLARIS synchrotron storage ring.
The construction of the PHELIX beamline started

The installation of the straight section chamber for the undulator commences the construction of the PHELIX beamline.
The agreement on constructing a beamline for structural studies signed

On 29 June 2018 a cooperation agreement between the Jagiellonian University and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna, Russia was signed. The agreement envisages the construction and operation of a Laboratory for Structural Research into Macromolecules and New Materials at the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre.
Results of the first SOLARIS call for proposals
