Cryo-electron microscopy for industry coming soon to SOLARIS

The SOLARIS Centre and the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology (Jagiellonian University) won a two-stage competition for the purchase of an electron microscopy for industrial research. Funding was awarded by the National Information Processing Institute (OPI PIB) as part of the EU's Smart Growth Operational Programme.
Increase in beam time availability

On March 1, 2020, the SOLARIS Centre increases beam time availability.
Construction begins on SOLABS (XAS-HN) beamline

At the beginning of December 2019, the factory acceptance tests of the SOLABS (XAS-HN) beamline first devices was completed. The components were delivered to SOLARIS on December 9, and at the end of the month, during shutdown, SOLARIS team installed them in the storage ring.
First light on XMCD beamline

On December 6, 2019, the first beam of photons was directed into to the beamline with the working name of XMCD.
