A consortium bringing together ten research facilities from the whole world which deals with the development of the control system of the same name.

The Tango Controls system is open-source programming published under the GPL and LGPL licenses. The system was created in 1999 by specialists from the ESRF synchrotron for the purpose of controlling accelerators and scientific experiments. Nowadays, the system is also used in other fields, such as industry.
