XAS end-station in SOLARIS

In December 2015, the SOLARIS Centre team finished the installation of the PEEM/XAS beamline second end-station.

On 1 October 2015, inside the synchrotron, a 20 mA current of electrons was accelerated to its target energy of 1.5 GeV.

On 21 September 2015, the opening ceremony of the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Center took place in the experimental hall of the Kraków synchrotron.
PEEM end-station in SOLARIS

In July 2015 PEEM-end station was delivered to SOLARIS. It will allow the team to complete the installation of the first beamline of the synchrotron. A photoemission electron microscope will make it possible to conduct research in many fields of study, from physics, chemistry, catalytics to material engineering, and even archaeology.
The first light in the SOLARIS synchrotron

The SOLARIS Centre team has managed to transmit a beam of electrons to the storage ring of the synchrotron and saw the first light at the entry points to the beamlines. The beam was maintained for more than ten minutes, and it went around the ring more than two billion times.
