A meeting of directors of research infrastructures belonging to the CERIC-ERIC consortium was held on December 19-20, 2023. The venue for the meeting was the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Center. CERIC-ERIC is the Consortium for Central European Research Infrastructure, which offers open access to advanced multidisciplinary research laboratories. It enables Central European scientists to benefit from top-level research resources while promoting international cooperation and innovative research projects.

Research results from Synchrotron Radiation and Free Electron Lasers are groundbreaking in many scientific fields. Europe has achieved global leadership in this field. From 2025 onwards, for the next three years it will be the SOLARIS Centre, as a part of Jagiellonian University, that will give direction to the LEAPS consortium of European light sources.
