The largest Science Popularization Centers hosted at SOLARIS

The largest Science Popularization Centers hosted at SOLARIS

Representatives of seven of Poland's leading science popularization centers were guests of SOLARIS at a meeting inaugurating popularization cooperation. The EC1 Science and Technology Center in Lódź, the Leonardo da Vinci Science Center, the “Młyn Wiedzy” Modernity Center in Toruń, Krakow's Cogiteon, the Experyment Science Center in Gdynia and the "Kortosfera" Center were some of the units that joined the event.

The SOLARIS Center is proof that highly specialized research centers can be an excellent space for popularizing science. Young people's access to advanced technologies educates, inspires, and sparks curiosity and interest in conducting future scientific research. The recently opened "SOLARIS Knowledge Path," which allows visitors to tour the synchrotron's experimental hall, is an accomplished example of SOLARIS' potential for science communication.
The first day of spring at SOLARIS was marked by the popularization of science. Seventeen representatives of Poland's leading Science Centers discussed possible levels of cooperation with NCPS SOLARIS.
The purpose of the meeting was to integrate the community of Poland's leading science centers around the SOLARIS research infrastructure, in order to jointly create future directions for the development of the space for the popularization of science.
During the meeting, the directions and priorities for the development of the popularization of science in Poland were discussed with a particular focus on the role of SOLARIS, and many common areas of cooperation were identified, with a particular focus on lobbying processes at the centralized and ministerial levels. A special place in the panel discussion was given to the topic of opportunities for cooperation between NCPS SOLARIS and the SPiN Society and Science Association linking national institutions working together for research and professionalization in the field of science communication.
