Progress on PolyX beamline

Progress on PolyX beamline

A contract on delivery a hybrid monochromator for PolyX beamline was signed on 24th February 2021. The contractor is Cinel Scientific Instruments.

The monochromator is a key element of beamline, which allows one to choose a specific energy from polychromatic spectrum of synchrotron beam. The hybrid monochromator will consist of a double crystal monochromator (DCM) and a double multilayer monochromator (DMM).

Each of the monochromator parts provide different features of the beam: DCM will be devoted for techniques which require a high monochromatization level; DMM will produce a high intensity beam of relatively broad energy band. The delivery and installation of monochromator is planned in 2022.

More information about the under construction beamline you can read here.
