What makes parrots have colorful feathers?

Dr. Peter Mojzeš Institute of Physics of Charles University, Faculty of Mathematics and Physic Charles University and Dr. Jindřich Brejcha Department of Philosophy and History of Science, Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague - conducted the research on a CIRI beamline, studying how parrots produce the colors of their feathers.

An international team of scientists led by Yuri Shvyd'ko from the Argonne National Laboratory (USA) with the participation of Dr. Tomasz Kołodziej in the Nature journal has published the results of their research on the resonance excitation of the scandium-45 isomer along with a precise determination of the resonance energy. The results of their scientific experiment confirm that in order to develop ultra-precise research methods, it is necessary to conduct pioneering research using X-ray lasers.

On 2 October, the twelfth call for proposals for beamtime at the SOLARIS Centre was closed. The International Evaluation Committee will once again have the opportunity to examine a record number of applications.
Agro&Food scientyfic meeting at the SOLARIS Centre

SOLARIS Center hosted a hybrid meeting of scientists from all over Poland engaged in research in the field of agriculture and food production. It was attended by representatives of the University of Agriculture in Krakow, the University of Rzeszów, the Institute of Plant Physiology PAS, the Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry PAS, the Institute of Plant Genetics PAS, the Poznan University of Life Science, the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology and University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.
