The systemic consequences of disorder in magnetically self-organized topological MnBi2Te4/(Bi2Te3)n superlattices
11.07.2022
In a recent publication in 2D Materials, users of SOLARIS Centre highlight the critical importance of different disorder metrics in a new platform for quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) effect, MnBi2Te4/(Bi2Te3)n self-organized magnetic topological insulator. The material has recently been attracting increasing attention also as a perspective for axion-insulator phase. A major part of the study has been conducted using the angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy beamline (URANOS, former UARPES) at Synchrotron SOLARIS.

What role does a tRNA modification complex, called Elongator, play in brain development?
23.06.2022
SOLARIS Centre users from the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology (of the Jagiellonian University, together with Australian, Turkish and Canadian colleagues, have found a link between defects in the cellular protein production machinery and neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), characterized by an inability to reach cognitive and motor milestones. Key studies in this publication were conducted using Cryo-EM microscopes located at our center.

Role of intercalated cobalt in the electronic structure of Co1/3NbS2
28.04.2022
A team of scientists from Zagreb, Wien, Lausanne and Krakow led by Dr. Eduard Tutiš has investigated an antiferromagnetic layered compound Co1/3NbS2 - an example of the transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD), having complex magnetic structure.
