The SOLARIS synchrotron call for proposals was opened on March 1st.

On 1st January 2019, the European Horizon 2020 project BEAmline for Tomography at SESAME (BEATS) was launched with the objective to design, procure, construct and commission a beamline for hard X-ray full-field tomography at the SESAME synchrotron in Jordan.

The international meeting of synchrotron light sources and free electron lasers specialists was hosted by the SOLARIS on 27 and 28 November 2018.

The PHELIX beamline construction continues. In October 2018 the light source for the beamline - an undulator - was installed in the storage ring. In November construction of the an optical hutch ended.

On Friday, November 9, 2018, the first, five-day synchrotron school co-organized by SOLARIS ended. The HERCULES school was co-organized in cooperation with the Université Grenoble Alpes and ESRF synchrotron, and financed by the European Union.
