Create an account on the SOLARIS User Network platform and register your affiliation.
While creating an account in SOLARIS User Network (SUN), you need to specify your affiliation (the scientific institution you represent). Remember that each affiliation must be verified by an employee of the NSRC SOLARIS User Office. Therefore add your affiliation as soon as possible! You will not be able to submit a proposal without having your affiliation confirmed!
Remember that you can create an account in the SUN application regardless of the currently open call for proposals. We encourage you to register in our system as soon as possible.
You can access detailed instructions for the SUN platform via the provided link.
The SUN application is supported by Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera browsers.
Prepare and save the proposal
The application in SUN consists of three parts:
- General information, where you must provide the application title, list the co-authors and select the infrastructure; you should also specify the parameters which are necessary to carry out the experiment.
- A scientific part where you must include the abstract and a substantive description of the experiment. To prepare your proposal, you should use the template of the "Scientific Part" (document in: .docx, .odt, .tex). This document must not exceed two A4 pages (including figures and references) with a minimal font size of 12 pt (Times New Roman). Before submitting a proposal, we strongly recommend that you first consult the Proposal Guidelines which can be found below. We also recommend that you look at the Guidelines of the European Synchrotron User Organization working group. The scientific part should be highly targeted, avoiding vague or excessively broad aims. Preliminary measurements or characterisation are recommended when appropriate.
- Samples, where you must use a special form to describe every sample type you intend to bring to SOLARIS. The safety level of each sample is verified by a Safety Manager.
Use the last tab – Submit proposal – to send your application to us! Remember that you can save the application at any stage of its creation process. Remember to write the proposal in English. Each user may send an unlimited number of proposals.
Please report any problem and submit any modification ideas that are related to the SUN registration and operation process to us at the following e-mail address: user.solaris@uj.edu.pl. The e-mail response time is two working days.
