CrossCarpatian Synchrotron School 2026 Successfully Concluded at SOLARIS

From 16 to 19 September 2026, the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre hosted participants of the CrossCarpatian Synchrotron School 2026 (CSS2026), an international training programme dedicated to the application of synchrotron radiation techniques in scientific research. The event brought together 18 undergraduate and postgraduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and scientists with limited prior experience in synchrotron-based experimentation. The programme combined theoretical lectures, proposal-writing workshops, and intensive practical training conducted at SOLARIS beamlines.

10 years of Poland’s membership in CERIC-ERIC

On 16 September 2026, celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of Poland’s accession to the CERIC-ERIC consortium were held in Kraków. The event took place at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University as part of the Joint Meeting of PSRS Members and SOLARIS Centre Users. The anniversary provided an opportunity to reflect on a decade of cooperation between the Polish scientific community and European research infrastructure consortia, as well as to showcase scientific achievements made possible through access to the laboratories and research techniques available through CERIC.

JMSU 2026 - The Synchrotron and Cryo-EM User Community Meets again in Kraków

From 14 to 16 September 2026, the Faculty of Chemistry of the Jagiellonian University hosted the 4th Joint Meeting of PSRS Members and SOLARIS Centre Users (JMSU 2026). Organised jointly by the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre of the Jagiellonian University and the Polish Synchrotron Radiation Society, the conference brought together approximately 140 researchers from leading national and international scientific institutions.

SOLARIS at the Economic Forum in Karpacz – Science and Technology for a Competitive Europe

The future of the European economy will depend not only on access to energy and new technologies, but also on Europe’s ability to develop them independently. Advanced research infrastructures are playing an increasingly important role in this process. At the 35th Economic Forum in Karpacz, SOLARIS was present both in expert debates on Europe’s technological future and in the exhibition area. The Centre’s potential was also highlighted during a discussion on the future of Polish science as an example of a successful investment in modern research infrastructure.

SOLARIS at the 4th Congress of Physics Teachers with the “Scientific Mission”

” Representatives of the SOLARIS Centre participated in the 4th Congress of Physics Teachers at the University of Warsaw, where they presented the Centre’s educational portfolio and conducted workshops based on the original educational game SOLARIS: Scientific Mission. These activities are delivered as part of the Akademia Skilla programme, funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The event brought together teachers, researchers and educational experts from across Poland, providing a platform for the exchange of experiences and discussions on the future of physics education.
