Plan your experiments at SOLARIS – the 18th call for proposals is now open!

The SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre has opened its autumn call for proposals for beamtime in 2027. From 1 September, researchers may apply for the opportunity to conduct experiments using the state-of-the-art facilities available at SOLARIS, including the ASTRA, CIRI, DEMETER (PEEM, STXM), PIRX, POLYX and URANOS beamlines, as well as the Cryo-Electron Microscope. Proposals can be submitted via the SOLARIS User Network (SUN) until 1 October 2026, 23:59 CEST. We warmly invite researchers from academia and industry to submit proposals and carry out their experiments at SOLARIS.
SOLARIS continues programme supporting the next generation of researchers

The SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre of the Jagiellonian University (NCPS SOLARIS) continues to foster the development of the next generation of researchers by providing young scientists with direct access to experiments employing advanced research techniques based on synchrotron radiation and cryo-electron microscopy. The results achieved to date demonstrate the programme’s importance for the development of the Polish scientific community, while the decision to continue the initiative creates new opportunities for future participants.
SOLARIS on the Polish Research Infrastructure Roadmap

The SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre has once again been included in the updated Polish Research Infrastructure Roadmap (PMIB), published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Its presence on this prestigious list confirms the strategic importance of the Kraków-based synchrotron for the advancement of Polish science and highlights its role as a unique research infrastructure of international significance.
