The National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS hosted the 8th Plenary Meeting of the League of European Accelerator-based Photon Sources (LEAPS). From 13 to 15 November 2025, more than 100 participants from across Europe gathered at the Kraków Technology Park, highlighting the dynamic development and growing impact of the LEAPS community.

On 6 November 2025, marking the 86th anniversary of the tragic events of the Sonderaktion Krakau, ceremonies were held to commemorate the Academic Day of Remembrance. During the event, the Rector of the Jagiellonian University, Professor Piotr Jedynak, together with representatives of the academic community, paid tribute to the professors and staff who, throughout the university’s history, have shaped its scientific heritage.

On November 5, 2025, the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS hosted Dr. Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, a Polish astronaut of the European Space Agency, whose meeting with the research team and synchrotron users became an important part of the nationwide technological and scientific tour of the IGNIS mission.

Innovation is born where local communities know how to work together, support bold ideas, and reach beyond what is familiar. That was exactly the case on October 30 at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre, where the first edition of TECH-ON! – a new event on Poland’s map of technology conferences and festivals – took place.

On October 29, 2025, a meeting was held at the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre between representatives of the Centre and the City of Kraków. The discussions focused on developing cooperation in the areas of environmental research, education, city promotion, and science communication. The meeting followed the recent visit of the Mayor of Kraków to SOLARIS and stands as a clear signal of the growing partnership with the host city of the facility.
