Scientific Advisory Committee Meeting at SOLARIS – analysis of scientific progress and development strategies

On October 2–3, 2025, the annual meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) took place at the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS. The event brought together representatives of leading synchrotron facilities from around the world, with one of the key highlights being the official inauguration of the new CIRI beamline.
Members of the Jagiellonian University Council Visit the SOLARIS Centre

On 6 October 2025, following a meeting of the Jagiellonian University Council held in the Collegium Novum, members of the Council visited the SOLARIS Centre. The visit, initiated by Dr. Zbigniew Inglot, provided an opportunity to learn about the Centre’s unique research infrastructure and the possibilities it offers for advancing science in Poland and across Europe.
CIRI opens at SOLARIS – new research opportunities on the infrared beamline

The SOLARIS Centre hosted the inauguration of the new CIRI (Chemical Infrared Imaging) beamline. It is the only synchrotron beamline in Poland operating in the infrared range, opening up entirely new research opportunities for scientists, from biomedicine to cultural heritage.

The event attracted large numbers of visitors eager to discover what work in Poland’s only synchrotron looks like and how synchrotron radiation helps to unveil the secrets of matter.
Study visit of EHTIC Representatives at NCPS SOLARIS

On 16 September, the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS hosted a study visit of representatives from the European HealthTech Innovation Centre (EHTIC) in Zabrze, led by Deputy Director Dr Arkadiusz Szmal. The meeting was organised by the Technology Transfer Centre CITTRU of the Jagiellonian University and aimed to exchange knowledge and experience related to making research infrastructure available for economic purposes.
