The BRAXIS prototype for studying the Sun in the field of X-ray radiation is being tested at the SOLARIS Centre

A research group from the Solar Physics Division Space Research Centre at the Polish Academy of Sciences' (SPD SRC PAS), under the scientific leadership of Dr. Żaneta Szaforz and with the scientific support of Prof. Janusz Sylwester, will conduct research at the ASTRA beamline at the SOLARIS Centre as part of the BRAXIS (BRAgg Crystal X-ray Instrument for Spectroscopy) project. BRAXIS is an X-ray spectrometer designed for participation in a MIDEX-class space mission project being formulated by NASA Marshall Space Flight Center, intended to study the Sun in the range of X-ray and ultraviolet radiation.
ISTAC CERIC Committee Meeting at SOLARIS Centre

On November 26th-27th the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS in Kraków hosted members of the International Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (ISTAC) of CERIC. The visit was part of the periodic evaluation that the committee conducts every four years at each research facility within the CERIC-ERIC consortium.
Structural Biology School at SOLARIS Centre – Innovative Research and International Collaboration

The National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS hosted participants of the Structural Biology School, an event dedicated to modern research methods. A key component of the program was a series of workshops on cryo-electron microscopy, organized by the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Team at SOLARIS Centre.

The First Twinning in the NEPHEWS Project: How Science Combines Experience with New Perspectives

At the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre, within the POLYX beamline, a collaboration has taken shape that has become one of the first successes of the international NEPHEWS (NEutrons and PHotons Elevating Worldwide Science) project. When Dr. Malgorzata Palusińska, an early-career scientist, applied for the Twinning Program, no one yet knew how fruitful this collaboration would turn out to be.
