SOLARIS hosts ESFRI meetings under the auspices of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council

From 10 to 12 June 2025, Kraków became one of the focal points on the European map of discussions about the future of science and research infrastructure. For three consecutive days, the Auditorium Maximum and Collegium Novum of the Jagiellonian University, as well as the SOLARIS Centre, hosted representatives of European and national scientific institutions, international organisations, governmental agencies and delegates from EU Member States. The event, consisting of two related yet distinct parts – the 3rd ESFRI Stakeholders Forum Meetup and the 92nd plenary meeting of the ESFRI Forum – was organised by the SOLARIS Centre in close cooperation with the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures and the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The initiative formed part of the official calendar of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, highlighting Poland’s active role in shaping research and innovation policy at the EU level.
LEAPS RDB, GA and TF in Kraków – Strategic Meetings at NCPS SOLARIS and the Jagiellonian University

On 10–11 June 2025, the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS hosted participants of key LEAPS meetings: the Research and Development Board (RDB), the General Assembly (GA), and the Task Force (TF). The sessions took place both at the NCPS SOLARIS headquarters and at the Auditorium Maximum of the Jagiellonian University. The meetings aimed to summarize recent progress, discuss new initiatives, and plan the further development of LEAPS research infrastructure.

Meeting of the European Science Foundation (ESF) and the Europlanet Society at the SOLARIS Centre

On 9–10 June 2025, the SOLARIS Centre in Kraków will host a two-day workshop jointly organised by the European Science Foundation (ESF) and the Europlanet Society, just ahead of the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI). The main theme will be the role and importance of small and medium-sized research infrastructures in maintaining the competitiveness of research in Europe.
SOLARIS at EUIndTech2025: Research Infrastructure in the Service of Innovation

From 2–4 June 2025, Kraków became the center of Europe’s debate on the future of industry, research, and innovation. The occasion was the EUIndTech2025 – Technologies for a Sustainable Europe conference, held as part of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS took an active part in the event, emphasizing its role as a key research infrastructure hub in Central and Eastern Europe.
