Meeting of representatives of research infrastructures in the field of Physical and Engineering Sciences

On 16 April 2024, a meeting of representatives of research infrastructures in the field of physical and engineering sciences took place at the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS in Kraków. The event was a continuation of discussions initiated earlier this year at the Warsaw School of Economics and aimed to define common strategic directions for future collaboration.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education visits the SOLARIS National Centre

Dr. Eng. Marcin Kulasek, Minister of Science and Higher Education, visited Kraków on April 9th, where he took part in a series of meetings. As part of his visit, he met with the management of the SOLARIS Centre. The aim of the visit was to discuss key issues related to the development of the synchrotron, as well as to gain insight into the operations of the country’s only shared synchrotron infrastructure available on an open-access basis.
Dr inż. Marcin Kulasek, Minister Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego, odwiedził Kraków, gdzie 9 kwietnia wziął udział w serii spotkań. W ramach wizyt spotkał się z Dyrekcją Centrum SOLARIS. Celem wizyty było omówienie kluczowych zagadnień dotyczących rozwoju synchrotronu , a także zapoznanie się ze specyfiką działalności jedynej w kraju współdzielonej infrastruktury synchrotronowej na zasadzie otwartego dostępu.
Małopolska Business Council Meeting at the SOLARIS Centre

On April 9, 2025, the first meeting of the Małopolska Business Council took place, gathering key representatives from the regional authorities and local business leaders. The meeting was held at the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS in Krakow and aimed to discuss current activities and future initiatives supporting the economic development of the Małopolska Region. Among the topics discussed were issues related to the internationalization of Małopolska-based companies, collaboration with the Science and Innovation Center in Silicon Valley, and the integration of science and business sectors.
Closing of the EURIZON project with the participation of a SOLARIS representative

The official closing of the EURIZON project took place on March 27–28, 2025, in Brussels. A representative from the SOLARIS Center also participated in the meeting, where, representing the LEAPS consortium, they delivered a presentation on the involvement of Polish infrastructure in the joint European network project.
236 applications in the fifteenth call for proposals – a new record for the SOLARIS Centre

On April 1, 2025, marked the end of the fifteenth call for proposals for the SOLARIS Centre. Users who are granted beamtime will be able to carry out their research from September 2025 to February 2026.
